Ralf Thomas new Siemens CFO

Munich, Germany - September 18, 2013, Munich, Germany - Siemens AG has appointed Ralf Thomas as a new CFO with immediate effect and will concentrate responsibilities within the managing board as of October 1, 2013.

Mr. Thomas has been CFO at Siemens' Industry Sector since 2008. Starting in 2004, he was head of the Corporate Unit "Corporate Finance Accounting, Controlling, Reporting & Taxes" of Siemens AG. In this position, he was responsible, among other things, for the company's global financial reporting and controlling.

In the years before, he worked for Siemens in the Healthcare Sector and in South Africa. He joined Siemens after completing his doctorate in tax accounting law at Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, in 1995.

Effective September 30, 2013, Brigitte Ederer whose responsibilities on Siemens' Managing Board have included human resources, is resigning her position by mutual agreement.

Ms. Ederer has been the Head of Corporate Human Resources Department of Siemens AG since June 2010 and serves as its Executive Vice-president. Ms. Ederer has been a Member of the Managing Board and Labour Director of Siemens AG since July 2010. She serves as a Member of Managing Board at Berwanger, Inc. and The Siemens Automation and Drives Group.

She has been the Head of European Human Resources of Siemens AG since June 2010. She serves as a Member of the Managing Board of Siemens Real Estate GmbH & Co. OHG. Ms. Ederer served as Chief Executive and General Director of Siemens Austria of Siemens Ag since December 13, 2005. Ms. Ederer served as the Chairman of Supervisory Board at Siemens AG since June 2010.

She has been a Member of Supervisory Board at Jenoptik AG since June 6, 2012. She has been a Member of the Supervisory Board at Oesterreichische Indholding AG since April 2008. She served as a Member of Supervisory Board at Siemens AG since June 2010. She has Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Universitat Wien.
