Robert Beeston and Chris Girling to retire from Elementis

London, United Kingdom - July 23, 2013, London, United Kingdom - Elementis, a specialty chemicals company, announced that Robert Beeston will retire as chairman and a non-executive director.

Mr. Beeston was appointed non-executive Chairman of Elementis and Chairman of the Nomination Committee in September 2006. He was non-executive chairman of Cookson Group and a non-executive director of D S Smith where he was the senior independent director and chairman of the remuneration committee.

From 1992 until 2002 Mr. Beeston was chief executive officer of FKI plc. He spent 18 years with Dowty Group before joining John Brown Plastics Machinery (UK) Ltd as managing director. He was then appointed managing director of BTR Valve Group, a position he held for six years before joining FKI plc.

The company also announced that and Chris Girling will retire as chairman of the audit committee and a non-executive director.

Mr. Girling was appointed a non-executive director in April 2005 and Chairman of the Audit Committee in April 2008. He was group finance director of Carillion plc, and previous to that he was finance director of Vosper Thornycroft plc for ten years.
