Midland, Mich., USA - The Dow Chemical Company and Dow Corning Corporation announced that Robert D. Hansen, chairman, CEO and president of Dow Corning, intents to retire from Dow Corning Corporation.

Mr. Hansen intents to retire upon the completion of Dow’s ownership restructure transaction with Corning, Inc., which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2016.
Mr. Hansen has 34 years of service with Dow Corning.
After joining the company in 1982, he held a variety of finance, commercial, business leadership and geographic leadership roles, including president of Dow Corning’s operations in Europe.
Mr. Hansen was named president in 2010, and chief executive officer in 2011. He was elected chairman of the board in 2013.
Mr. Hansen will stay with the company for several months, helping to ensure a smooth ownership transition for the Dow Corning Silicones business.
In addition to his current responsibilities, Dow has named Howard Ungerleider, vice chairman and chief financial officer of Dow as chairman of Dow Corning, and Mauro Gregorio, currently vice president leading the Dow Corning integration, as chief executive officer of Dow Corning.
Mr. Ungerleider joined Dow in 1990 and his career has spanned a wide variety of commercial, business, financial, geographic, functional and enterprise-level leadership roles.
In 1997, he relocated to Dow's European headquarters in Switzerland, where he had management responsibilities for several of Dow's specialty polyolefin brands.
Mr. Ungerleider was named Business Director for Dow's global Wire and Cable Compounds business in 2000, and in 2004, he became the Global Director of Integrated Supply Chain for Plastics, Performance Chemicals and Thermosets.
In 2006, he was appointed North American Commercial Vice President for Dow's Basic Plastics business portfolio.
From 2008 to 2011, he served as Vice President of Investor Relations, where he was responsible for creating and driving an investor outreach program about Dow's strategic transformation and performance in the midst of the worst global economic crisis in decades.
In this role, he was also a member of the Finance leadership team, providing counsel and support to Dow's Chief Financial Officer.
He was named President for Dow’s Performance Plastics Division in 2011.
In 2012, he was named Executive Vice President of Dow’s Advanced Materials Division and joined Dow’s senior-most executive team.
He was elected as CFO by the Board of Directors in 2014; he was named Vice Chairman in 2015.
Mr. Ungerleider earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas in Austin and a Master's degree in Business Administration from University of California in Los Angeles.
He chairs the Member's Committee of Dow AgroSciences; serves on the Boards of Directors of Wolverine Bancorp, Dow Corning Corporation, Mid-Michigan Baseball Foundation, and Keep America Beautiful; and serves on the executive committee of the Business Leaders for Michigan business roundtable.
Mr. Gregorio brings more than 30 years of market and international experience to Dow Corning.
He has worked across a number of downstream, market facing businesses on three continents, including Engineering Plastics, where he led a team that built the innovation pipeline for Dow’s participation in the automotive industry and with electronics OEMs; Performance Plastics, where he drove business development efforts with global brand owners in Dow’s Hygiene and Medical and Packaging businesses; and in Dow’s Energy portfolio, where he was instrumental in delivering innovative solutions that substantially improved Dow’s sustainability results.
Mr. Gregorio also has functional expertise spanning commercial, supply chain, technical service and new business development. ■
