New York, N.Y., USA - February 4, 2015, New York, N.Y., USA - Rand Logistics, Inc., a provider of bulk freight shipping services, announced that it has appointed Robert Kurz and Edward Levy as Class III and Class I directors, respectively.

Mr. Kurz is Vice President of Kinder Morgan Terminals and the President of their tanker division, American Petroleum Tankers. Mr. Kurz has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College and a Masters of Science degree and United States Coast Guard Third Mate License from S.U.N.Y. Maritime College.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Maritime Partnership and a past Board member of the American Maritime Congress, Labor Management Maritime Committee,
OceanConnect.com, United Seamen’s Service and William Penn Charter School.
Mr. Levy is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Rand. Mr. Levy has served as Rand President since 2006. He also serves as a Director of Essex Rental Corp., an OTC bulletin board company and one of North America's largest providers of lattice-boom crawler crane and attachment rental services.
Mr. Levy was a managing director of CIBC World Markets Corp. from August 1995 through December 2004, and was co-head of CIBC World Markets Corp.’s Leveraged Finance Group from June 2001 until December 2004.
From February 1990 to August 1995, he was a managing director of Argosy Group L.P., a private investment banking firm. Since June 1998, he has been a member of the board of managers of Norcross Safety Products LLC, a company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of branded products in the fragmented personal protection equipment industry.
From July 1999 until March 2005, he was also a director of Booth Creek Ski Holdings, Inc., a company that owns and operates six ski resort complexes encompassing nine separate resorts. Mr. Levy is a member of the board of directors of a number of privately-held companies. Mr. Levy received a B.A. from Connecticut College.
Rand also announced that Captain Scott Bravener, a Class I director, has tendered his resignation from the Board of Directors. ■
