Whitehouse Station, N.J., USA - Merck, a global healthcare company, announced the appointment of Robert M. Davis as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective April 23, 2014.

Mr. Davis is corporate vice president and president of Baxter’s Medical Products business where he oversaw the successful integration of that company’s Global Medication Delivery and Renal businesses, along with corporate manufacturing and R&D functions, into a single, integrated division.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Davis served as corporate vice president and president of Baxter’s Renal business, as corporate vice president and chief financial officer from May of 2006 through May of 2010, and as treasurer from 2004 through May of 2006.
He joined Baxter as treasurer in 2004 after more than 14 years at Eli Lilly and Company.
Mr. Davis, who will also oversee corporate strategy and corporate business development, will succeed Peter N. Kellogg.
After having made significant contributions to the company as Merck’s CFO since 2007, Mr. Kellogg will work closely with Mr. Davis to ensure a seamless transition and will leave Merck on May 16.
Mr. Kellogg has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Merck & Co. Inc. since August 14, 2007.
He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance at Biogen Idec Inc. since November 2003 and also served as its Principal Accounting Officer until December 2006.
Mr. Kellogg served as an Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Finance of Biogen Inc. (now Biogen Idec Ma Inc.) since October 2001.
He served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Biogen Inc. since July 2000 and also served as Principal Accounting Officer.
He joined Biogen Inc. in 2000.
He served as Senior Vice President, PepsiCo E-Commerce of PepsiCo Inc., from March to July 2000.
Mr. Kellogg served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Frito-Lay International from March 1998 to March 2000.
From November 1996 to March 1998, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Frito-Lay Latin America.
From March 1994 to November 1996, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Central/Eastern Europe and Russia, Pepsi-Cola International and from February 1993 to March 1994 as Vice President and General Manager-Pepsi, South Franchise Business Unit.
From 1987 to 1998, Mr. Kellogg served in a variety of senior financial, international and general management positions at PepsiCo and the Pepsi-Cola International, Pepsi-Cola North America, and Frito-Lay International divisions.
Mr. Kellogg served as senior Consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton and Arthur Andersen & Co.
He serves as Member of Business Advisory Board at Theodent, LLC.
He has been Director of Metabolix, Inc. since March 30, 2007.
