Rogers appoints Dirk Woessner to president, consumer business unit

Toronto, ON, Canada - Rogers Communications, a communications and media company, appoints Dirk Woessner to president of the consumer business unit, effective April 6, 2015.

Mr. Woessner joins Rogers from Deutsche Telekom (DT) in Germany where he is responsible for all of their sales and distribution in Germany.

Since joining DT in 2002, he has held a number of leadership positions with Telekom Deutschland and T-Mobile in the UK and Germany.

Prior to DT he worked at McKinsey & Company in Munich and Madrid from 1997 to 2002, consulting to Europe's leading telecommunications companies.

Mr. Woessner has extensive experience in the communications industry and leading a winning consumer market strategy. He will be a member of the Executive team.

Mr. Woessner has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Humboldt-Universität in Berlin and a Masters in Chemistry from Technische Universität in Munich.
