Sabre Holdings announces leadership transition

Southlake, Tx., USA - August 16, 2013, Southlake, Tx., USA - Sabre Holdings, a global travel technology provider, announced that company president Tom Klein is succeeding Sam Gilliland as the company’s CEO.

Mr. Klein has been with Sabre for over two decades serving in a broad variety of leadership roles in Latin America, North America, and globally. He assumed the role of president of the company in 2010.

His role prior to that was executive vice president, Sabre Holdings, and group president, Sabre Travel Network and Sabre Airline Solutions.

Earlier roles included various senior leadership positions within Sabre Holdings, both in the United States and in Latin America.

Prior to joining Sabre in 1994, he held a variety of sales, marketing and operations positions at American Airlines and Consolidated Freightways, Inc.

Mr. Klein serves on the Board of Directors for Cedar Fair Entertainment and was appointed to the Board of Directors for Brand USA by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

He is also an advisor for Thayer Ventures, which invests in technology companies that focus on the hospitality industry. He serves on the executive committee of the World Travel and Tourism Council.
