London, United Kingdom - August 30, 2012, London, United Kingdom - China Africa Resources announced that Shao Yi has resigned as non-executive chairman of the company with immediate effect.

Mr. Yi currently acts as chairman and Director General of JEC. Between 2006 and 2009 he was Deputy General of Jiangsu East China Mineral and Exploration Bureau and from 2003 to 2006 he acted as General Manager of Jiangsu Provincial Aviation Industry Group. Prior to this, he gained his professional experience as general manager of Jiangsu Provincial Transport Industry Group and as a director of Jiangsu Economic Planning Committee.
Mr. Yi also has experience in local government having acted as a Standing Committee Member of the Municipal Party Committee and Chief Executive Mayor of Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, PRC. He is the Chairman of Globe Metals and Mining. Mr. Yi is a senior economist and holds an EMBA from Nanjing University Business School.
The company also announced that Xu Jianrong, currently a non-executive director of the Company, has taken up the role of chairman.
Mr. Jianrong is a director and chief executive officer of JEC with responsibility for major mining projects and outward investment and Deputy Director General of East China Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau. In addition, he holds directorships with JEC, Hong Kong Southwest Gold, Hong Kong East China Non-Ferrous Mineral Resources, Ltd, Australian ECE Nolans Investment and Globe Metals and Mining. He holds an EMBA from Nanjing University and a doctorate in geophysics and information technology.
The Company also annonced that Xie Xingnan has been appointed to the board of directors as a non-executive director, effective immediately, as a representative of East China Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau.
Mr. Xingnan has worked for more than ten years in the exploration business and is currently Deputy Director General of East China Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau (ECE) and a director of East China Non-Ferrous Metals Investment Holding, East China Non-Ferrous Metal Construction GroupsandHong Kong East China Non-Ferrous International Mineral Development. During the past five years, he also held a directorship of Hong Kong ECE Weatherly Investment. ■
