Siegfried Russwurm to resign from the Siemens management board

Munich, Germany - September 26, 2016, Munich, Germany - The supervisory board of Siemens AG and Siegfried Russwurm have mutually agreed that his contract, which will expire at the end of March 2017, will not be renewed.

Prof. Russwurm has been a member of the Managing Board since January 2008 and, in addition to his responsibilities as Chief Technology Officer, was the partner on the Managing Board for the separately managed Healthcare business.

In addition, he was responsible for the Middle East and CIS regions.

After completing his advanced studies in production engineering, Mr. Russwurm began his career at Siemens in 1992 as a production planner and project manager in the Medical Engineering Group.

He subsequently held various central management positions in Germany and Sweden, including serving as head of the Motion Control Systems Business Unit. In 2006, he joined the Group Executive Management of Siemens Medical Solutions.

In 2008, he was appointed to the Managing Board of Siemens AG as head of Corporate Human Resources. In 2010, Mr. Russwurm was named CEO of the Industry Sector. In 2014, he was appointed Chief Technology Officer.
