Sino-Forest Corporation appoints two key executives

Toronto, ON, Canada - August 3, 2010, Toronto, ON, Canada - Sino-Forest Corporation, a commercial forest plantation operator in China, announced the completion of its purchase of Omnicorp and appointment two senior executives.



Allen T.Y. Chan has been named chairman and a non-executive director of Omnicorp and Judson Martin was appointed President and chief executive officer and an executive director of Omnicorp.

Mr. Chan is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Sino-Forest. Mr. Chan co-founded Sino-Forest in 1994.

Mr. Chan previously worked twelve years as a management consultant and project manager in China, andhe worked for Hong Kong government in new town development and management programs. Mr. Martin is the Vice Chairman of Sino-Forest and has been a director of Sino-Forest since 2006. Prior to joining Sino-Forest's management team, Mr. Martin was Lead Director of the company’s board since 2007 and was Director since 2006.

Mr. Martin previously served ad Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc., Senior EVP, CFO & Chief Operating Officer of MDC Communications Corporation, and President & CEO of Trilon Securities Corporation.
