Smucker announces retirement of corporate officer, executive appointments
Dennis J. Armstrong has served in a number of leadership roles during his career with the Company in Logistics, Operations, and Purchasing. Mr. Armstrong has been Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Logistics and Operations Support since 2009.
Prior to that time, he served as Vice President, Logistics and Operations Support; Director of Operations, Corporate; Director, Scottsville Operations; Director, Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives; Director, Corporate Purchasing; General Manger, Canada; Manager of Operations; Manager of Beverage Operations; and Logistics Manager, Plant Manager, New Bethlehem Operations. He began his career at Smucker in 1979.
Mr. Armstrong will be retiring following 37 years with the company.
James R. Day will assume the role of Senior Vice President, Operations, effective May 1, 2016.
Mr. Day is currently Vice President, Coffee Operations. Mr. Day has been with the Company for 27 years. Mr. Day has been Vice President, Coffee Operations since 2014.
Prior to that time, he served in a variety of operations leadership roles within the coffee, consumer foods, and natural foods businesses. He began his career with Smucker in 1988 as a process engineer at a fruit processing facility.
Robert D. Ferguson will assume the role of Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, effective May 1, 2016.
Mr. Ferguson is currently Vice President, Integrated Business and Program Management and has been with the Company since the 2015 acquisition of Big Heart Pet Brands where he held leadership roles for seven years with Big Heart and Del Monte Foods, Inc.
Mr. Ferguson has been Vice President, Integrated Business and Program Management since 2015.
Prior to that time, he held various leadership roles in supply chain and operations including Vice President, Value Engineering and Customer Service at Big Heart Pet Brands and at Del Monte Foods, Inc. ■
