New York, N.Y., USA - Sony Corporation of America (SCA) announced that Nicole Seligman will become president of the company, effective June 27, 2012.

Ms. Seligman holds the position of Executive Vice President and General Counsel, the role she will retain.
Ms. Seligman joined Sony Corporation of America (SCA) as Executive Vice President and General Counsel in September 2001, she was appointed Corporate Executive Officer, Sony Corporation, in June 2003, and was promoted to General Counsel of Sony Corporation in June 2005.
Ms. Seligman joined SCA from Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, D.C. where she was a partner in the firm's litigation practice.
Prior to that, she served as law clerk to Justice Thurgood Marshall on the Supreme Court of the United States (1984-1985), and as law clerk to Judge Harry T. Edwards at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia (1983-l984).
From 1978-l980 she was associate editorial page editor for the Asian Wall Street Journal based in Hong Kong.
Ms. Seligman received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College (Radcliffe) in 1978, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1983.
The company also announced the promotions of Steven E. Kober and Mark E. Khalil to the positions of CFO and general counsel, effective June 27, 2012.
Together with their new appointments, they will be promoted to Executive Vice President.
Mr. Kober, who has a B.S. in accounting and finance and an M.B.A. in taxation from New York University's Stern School of Business, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs.
After working at the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Kober joined SCA as Assistant Controller in 1989.
He was promoted to Controller and later became Senior Vice President, Finance.
Mr. Khalil is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and received his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law.
After working with the Philadelphia law firm of Schnader, Harrison, Segal and Lewis, Mr. Khalil joined Sony Electronics (SEL) as Attorney in 1989 in Park Ridge, New Jersey, and was later Vice President, Group Counsel at SEL in San Jose, California, before moving to SCA in 2001. ■
