Calgary, AB, Canada - December 1, 2014, Calgary, AB, Canada - Sunshine Oilsands, an oil company, announced that it has appointed Tingan Liu to the position of non-executive chairman.

Mr. Liu is a non-executive Director and Hong Kong Company Secretary. He was appointed by the Board as a Director on February 1, 2011 as a nominee selected by China Life. He has been appointed as the company's authorised representative. He is the deputy chairman and president of China Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited.
Mr. Liu also holds a number of positions of responsibility in various professional and industry bodies, including serving as a council member of the Financial Services Development Council of the Hong Kong S.A.R., as a member of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, as a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee of the Government of Hong Kong S.A.R., as an executive director of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association and as the deputy chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors.
Mr. Liu received the "Director of the Year Award 2009" by The Hong Kong Institute of Directors in the category of Private Company Executive Directors. He was also a winner of China's "Top 10 economic Talents Special Award 2009" and a winner of the "Leader of Excellence Award 2013".
Mr. Liu obtained a master's degree in economics from Renmin University of China in 1988 and completed a scholarship programme in monetary policy and financial markets at the University of Oxford in 1991. He is a senior economist, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of United Kingdom and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries.
Michael Hibberd, the previous Executive Chairman, will remain as the senior executive director of Sunshine and has been appointed the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. He will continue to perform the functions of the CEO of the Corporation.
Mr. Hibberd has been Executive Chairman of Sunshine since June 25, 2014. He was Co-Chairman of Sunshine from October 6, 2008 to June 25, 2014. He was a founder of Sunshine and held the title of Chairman and Co-CEO from May, 2007 to October 6, 2008.
Mr. Hibberd is President and CEO of MJH Services Inc., a corporate finance advisory company established in January 1995. He has extensive international energy project planning and capital markets experience.
Prior to January 1995, he spent 12 years with ScotiaMcLeod. He worked in corporate finance in Toronto and Calgary and held the position of Director and Senior Vice-President, Corporate Finance.
Mr. Hibberd is currently Chairman of Canacol Energy and Greenfields Petroleum Corporation. He is a director of Montana Exploration Corp., PanOrient Energy and PetroFrontier Corp. He was previously Chairman Heritage Oil Plc and Heritage Oil Corporation. He was also director of Challenger Energy, Deer Creek Energy, Iteration Energy, Zapata Energy, Sagres Energy and Rally Energy Corp. ■
