Yokneam, Israel - August 24, 2012, Yokneam, Israel - Syneron Medical Ltd., a global aesthetic device company, announced that Asaf Alperovitz has resigned from the position of chief financial officer and that it has appointed David Schlachet as interim CFO, effective today.

Mr. Alperovitz has been CFO from 2005 of Tefron LTD, a multinational manufacturing company listed on both the New York and Tel-Aviv Stock Exchanges. From 2003 until 2005, Mr. Alperovitz was CFO of Corigin Ltd., an international enterprise software company. Prior to 2003, he held a variety of management positions with Ernst & Young in Israel and the United States. Mr. Alperovitz is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Economics and a Masters in Business Administration from Tel-Aviv University.
Mr. Schlachet is a current member of Syneron's Board of Directors and previously served as Syneron's Chief Financial Officer from 2004 to 2005 and as the Company's Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to 2007. He retired from the position of Chief Executive Officer in 2007 and concurrently joined the Company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Schlachet served as a Managing Partner of Biocom Management and Investment (2002) Ltd. from 2000 to June 2004. He served as a Managing Partner of Biocom Venture Capital Fund. From 1995 to 2000, he served as a Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Strauss Elite Holdings. From 1996 to January 2000, Mr. Schlachet served as Vice President of the Strauss Group of Companies. From January 1996 to June 1997, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Strauss Holdings Ltd.
From 1990 to 1996, Mr. Schlachet served as Vice President of Finance and Administration at the Weizmann Institute of Science. From 1974 to 1988, he was a Senior Manager at the investment company of Bank Hapoalim Ltd. He was Vice President of Finance and Administration at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel from 1990 to December 1995, and was responsible for the Institute's administration and financial activities, including personnel, budget and finance, funding, investments, acquisitions and collaboration with the industrial and business communities.
From 1989 to 1990, Mr. Schlachet was the President and Chief Executive Officer of YEDA Research and Development Co. Ltd. He serves as the Chairman of Harel Capital Markets Ltd. Mr. Schlachet served as the Chairman of Elite Industries Ltd. from July 1997 to June 2000. Mr. Schlachet serves as a Director of Taya Investments Co. Ltd., United Studios Ltd., Pharmos Ltd., Taldor Computer Systems Ltd., Proseed Venture Capital Fund Ltd., Israel Discount Bank Ltd., Hapoalim Capital Markets Ltd., Teldor Ltd., and Proseed Ltd.
Mr. Schlachet has been a Director of Pharmos Corp., since December 1994. He has been Director at Biocancell Therapeutics, Inc since January 2010. Mr. Schlachet joined Compugen Ltd.'s Board as an outside Director in June 2001. He serves as a Director at Syneron Medical Ltd. since July 2004. ■
