Tampa, Fl., USA - August 8, 2012, Tampa, Fl., USA - Syniverse, a telecommunications technology company, announced that Alfred de Cardenas has been appointed COO and Mahesh Prasad has joined the company as president of sales for the Americas.

Mr. de Cardenas joined Syniverse in April 2008 and he brought to Syniverse more than 20 years of experience in the global telecommunications industry. Before joining Syniverse, Mr. de Cardenas was with Nortel Networks, most recently as general manager of converged multimedia networks.
Mr. de Cardenas also held a number of other key leadership roles since joining Nortel in 1992, including vice president positions in carrier support and operations, sales, marketing, customer care, and network operations as well as assignments in Colombia and Brazil. He began his career as a senior engineer for Southern Bell.
Mr. de Cardenas earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Florida International University and his master’s of business administration degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Mr. Prasad brings more than 20 years of telecommunications leadership expertise, most recently serving as the President and Chief Marketing Officer of Reliance Communications in India.
Prior to Reliance, Mr. Prasad worked in the United States with leading telecom operators such as Nextel, Verizon (Bell Atlantic) and MCI WorldCom. He has also been President of Sahara India TV Network, and Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of India Trade Promotion Organization in the rank of Cabinet Secretary. He has held Secretary level jobs in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Mr. Prasad has been a Director of Silver Smith India since September, he serves as an External Director of MCorpGlobal, serves as a Director of Spice Enfotainment and Spice Global Private Limited. Mr. Prasad also served as an Additional and Independent Director at Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited. ■
