Syntel appoints president, Americas, business development

Troy, Mich., USA - September 3, 2012, Troy, Mich., USA - Syntel, an IT & BPO firm, announced the appointment of Nitin Rakesh to the position of president, Americas, business development and Nearshoring Center, effective today.

Mr. Rakesh joins Syntel from Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company Ltd., where he served as Managing Director and CEO. Mr. Rakesh joined Motilal Oswal Group in September 2008.

Mr. Rakesh served as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at State Street Syntel Services where he was leading India operations hub for STT’s global business operations. Mr. Rakesh served as Vice President and Head of B&FS BPO Operations at Syntel Inc., since February 2006.

He was employed at Syntel since 2002 in various capacities with the business process outsourcing unit. Mr. Rakesh served in various capacities at TCG Group from December 1999 to September 2002, with his last assignment as the Head of Sales, Banking & Financial Services, for TCG Software Services.

He was employed at Unit Trust of India and was responsible for venture capital deals, setting up of Offshore Mutual Funds and secondary market Research cell, Product Development, and Risk Management.
