Taipei, Taiwan - October 11, 2010, Taipei, Taiwan - Taiwan Mobile announced that Harvey Chang, president and chief executive officer, will step down at the end of the year.

Mr. Chang has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Taiwan Mobile Company Limited (TWM) since September 2003. Between 1998 and 2003, Mr. Chang was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) which has enjoyed the reputation of "Being the most admired company in Taiwan" for more than a decade.
During his career, Mr. Chang served in Taiwan's financial service community for 20 years. Immediately before his appointment at TSMC, Mr. Chang was the Chairman of China Securities Investment Trust Corporation- the largest mutual fund management company then. Earlier than that, he was the President of China Development Corporation, one of the two development banks in Taiwan.
On an earlier assignment, he was the founding President of Grand Cathay Securities Corporation, the leading underwriter of equities and bonds in Taiwan back then. Before that, he was the Senior Vice President of Chiao Tung Bank, a development bank owned by the Government of the Republic of China.
Mr. Chang is awarded the "Excellent Contribution Award" by CFA Taiwan Association in 2008, he is also the winner of the 2006 " Outstanding Management Award" presented by China Times. In addition, he is recognized by Finance Asia magazine for three consecutive years, in its Annual Best Asian Companies Survey, as "the Best CFO in Taiwan" in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Other citations to accredit Mr. Chang include "Achievement in Best Practice Award 2001" (CFO Asia Magazine), "Best Investor Relationship Officer Asia 2001" (Investor Relations Magazine). He was awarded the Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship in 2002.
Mr. Chang is currently the chairman of CACCI, the president of Taiwan Fund, Inc., Wharton Foundation of Taiwan and a member of the Asian Executive Board of the Wharton School and recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from Wharton School Alumni Association in 1998. In addition, he is Chairman of Felix S.Y. Chang Foundation Board, Taipei Ching Yuin Cultural & Educational Foundation Board and IC Radio Station. ■
