Tata Global Beverages promotes Ajoy Misra to managing director

Bangalore, India - January 30, 2014, Bangalore, India - Tata Global Beverages Limited (TGBL) announced that Ajoy Misra, currently the executive director, will be promoted to the managing director, effective April 1, 2014, in place of Harish Bhat, who will move into a senior advisory position in the Tata Group.

Mr. Misra is based at the Corporate office in Mumbai and has additional responsibilities of overseeing the Global Beverages operations as its Deputy CEO. He was with Indian Hotels for nearly 30 years and was leading its sales and marketing function in his most recent assignment.

Mr. Misra's prior roles include heading Sales for the Taj Group and being Area Director in the Sri Lanka and Maldives regions. He is a Civil Engineering graduate from BITS Pilani and holds an MBA from FMS, Delhi University.

Mr. Bhat joined the Tata Group as TAS probationer in 1987 and has completed 25 years. He was previously with Tata Tea Limited from 1988 to 2000 holding various positions. Most recently he was with Titan Industries Limited as Chief Operating Officer - Watches & Accessories Division where he led the world's fifth largest watches business with success. He was awarded the British Chevening Scholarship for Young Managers by Govt. of United Kingdom.
