TC PipeLines announces leadership change
Mr. Girling was appointed a director of the general partner in April 1999 and Chief Executive Officer of the general partner in June 2006. Mr. Girling's principal occupation is Chief Operating Officer of TransCanada Corporation, a position he has held since July 2009. In addition, he continues in his role as President, Pipelines, a position he has held since June 2006. From September 1999 to June 2006, he was Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer of TransCanada. Mr. Girling is also a director of Agrium Inc.
The company also announced that Gregory Lohnes has been appointed Chairman of TC PipeLines GP, Inc. and James Baggs is appointed to TC PipeLines GP, Inc.'s Board of Directors.
Mr. Lohnes is is the former Chief Financial Officer of TC PipeLines, LP. Mr. Lohnes is also Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of TransCanada Corporation. Mr. Lohnes was President and Chief Executive Officer of Great Lakes Gas Transmission Company. During his tenure, Great Lakes was a 50/50 joint venture between TransCanada and El Paso Corporation.
Mr. Lohnes joined TransCanada in 1993 and has held various executive positions in the areas of joint ventures pipelines, midstream and international. He also held management positions in Finance. Prior to joining TransCanada, Mr. Lohnes worked as a corporate and securities lawyer for a major Alberta law firm. Mr. Lohnes is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.
Mr. Lohnes holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary. ■
