New York, USA - August 10, 2009, New York, USA - Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP announced that Jeff Randall, Allan Soobert and Jeff Pade have joined Paul Hastings today.

Mr. Randall is a graduate of the University of Oregon and earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Mr. Randall will co-chair the firm's Global Intellectual Property Practice along with Joseph M. O'Malley, Jr. Mr. Randall will be resident in the firm's Palo Alto and Washington, D.C., offices, and Mr. Soobert and Mr. Pade will both reside in the Washington, D.C., office. The team specializes in patent litigation and were formerly partners at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
In addition to representing companies in multibillion-dollar intellectual property cases, Mr. Randall has served clients in matters across several states, including Delaware, Texas, Virginia, New York, Illinois and California. An experienced patent litigator, having won more than 30 jury trials, Mr. Randall has argued at more than 20 Markman hearings and has also handled numerous appeals before the California Court of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Soobert holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University. Mr. Soobert earned his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center where he was editor of IDEA, The Journal of Law and Technology, and he received an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from George Washington University Law School.
With experience navigating all phases of complex litigation, Mr. Soobert has represented major technology companies in multibillion-dollar patent disputes before trial and appellate courts across the United States. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Soobert worked as a satellite communications engineer at SAIC.
Mr. Pade received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and his J.D. from the Franklin Pierce Law Center. Prior to law school, Mr. Pade was an engineer in the water treatment and aerospace industries. A registered patent attorney, Mr. Pade has represented clients in patent litigation matters before arbitration panels, U.S. federal district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. ■
