Timken announces departure of Michael C. Arnold

Canton, Oh., USA - November 11, 2010, Canton, Oh., USA - Timken Company, an engineering company, announced that Michael C. Arnold, executive vice president and president of the Bearings and Power Transmission (B&PT) Group, intends to leave the company at the end of the year.

Mr. Arnold was named to his current position in 2007. As executive vice president, he also leads the areas of technology, quality and the geographic entities outside North America. He previously served as president of the company’s former Industrial Group, a position he held since 1999. Mr. Arnold also has been responsible for driving Timken’s growth in Asia and other emerging markets. He is a member of the company’s executive council.

Mr. Arnold has served as vice president and director of bearing business process advancement, director of manufacturing and technology in Europe, Africa and West Asia and general manager of the company’s Asheboro plant in Randleman, N.C. He joined Timken in 1979 as a sales engineer in Cleveland, Ohio.

Mr. Arnold serves on the board of directors of Gardner Denver Inc. (NYSE:GDI) and Cincinnati Incorporated. He is a member of The University of Akron’s Engineering Advisory Council and the College of Business Advancement Council and formerly served as chairman of CoLinx LLC and International AB.
