Mr. Strang leads Warner Music Group’s Music Publishing & Catalog Development division, which includes Warner/Chappell Music and Rhino Entertainment. As Warner/Chappell Music's Chairman and CEO, Mr. Strang is responsible for the music publisher's worldwide operations, including strategic acquisitions, A&R, international licensing initiatives and global expansion.
Previously, Mr. Strang was the founder of Southside Independent Music Publishing, which was formed in 2004 and acquired by Warner/Chappell in 2010. He was also the founder of independent label, New West Records. Mr. Strang graduated from University of British Columbia Law School in 1992.
The company also announced that Todd Moscowitz, Warner Bros. Records’ co-President and CEO, has decided to resign from his position.
Mr. Moscowitz has joined Warner Bros. Records as its Executive Vice President in 2009. Prior to that he served as CEO of WMG’s Independent Label Group (ILG), which includes the Asylum and East West labels. Named President of Asylum Records in 2004, he was integral in transforming hip-hop artists Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Bun B, D4L and Webbie into gold and platinum superstars. ■
