TUI says Horst Baier to retire, Birgit Conix new CFO

Hannover, Germany - TUI AG, a travel and tourism company, announced that Horst Baier, a member of the company's executive board and CFO, will retire from office as of September 30, 2018.

In February 2010 Mr. Baier was appointed CFO of TUI AG.

From September 2012 until the merger of TUI AG and TUI Travel PLC in December 2014 he was also Chief Human Resources Director of TUI AG.

He joined the Executive Board of TUI AG in November 2007 with responsibility for the controlling division.

Mr. Baier joined TUI in 1996 as head of Finance and Accounting of TUI Group GmbH.

In 2001 he was promoted managing director in Finance and Administration of TUI Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH.

Subsequently, he became head of Accounting and Reporting of TUI AG.

In 1979 Mr. Baier started his professional career as manager in the Finance department of Continental AG. Inter alia, further stages brought him to General Tyre Inc., USA as well as to the Schickedanz Group, Germany, where he was responsible for the Finance department.

He completed his education at the Leibniz-Akademie Hanover and at Continental AG with a degree in business administration.

Birgit Conix, already a member of the Company's Executive Board, has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer with effect from 1 October 2018.

In July 2018 Ms. Conix joined the Executive Board of TUI AG.

Previously she has been working as CFO of the Belgian media and telecommunications group Telenet, which she had assumed in October 2013.

Prior to moving to Telenet, Ms. Conix had been Senior Finance Director Western Europe for the international brewing company Heineken since 2011.

She had held various management and leadership positions at the global healthcare company Johnson & Johnson from 1996 to 2011.

She worked in both the J&J Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices divisions at Europe, Middle East & Africa level, and was Vice President Finance at Janssen Germany, a J&J subsidiary, from 2004 to 2007.

Prior to J&J, she worked at both Tenneco and Reed-Elsevier.

Mr. Conix has 25 years of experience in finance across many different industries.

Having held assignments in Amsterdam, London, Queretaro/Mexico, Madrid, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, Birgit Conix gained extensive experience in virtually all of TUI’s core markets in the course of her career.
