Portland, Or., USA - January 22, 2010, Portland, Or., USA - Umpqua Holdings Corporation, parent company of Umpqua Bank and Umpqua Investments, announced that it has appointed Luis Machuca and Hilliard Terry to its board of directors and to the bank's board.

Mr. Machuca is the president and CEO of Kryptiq Corp., a healthcare connectivity company that facilitates a first-of-its-kind, open interactive network for healthcare. Before working for Kryptiq, Mr. Machuca served as president and chief operating officer for eFusion Corp., where he subsequently merged the company with ITXC Corp.
Mr. Machuca' experience also includes time as executive vice president of the NEC Computer Services Division of PB-NEC Corp., and 15 years with Intel Corp. While with Intel, Machuca held a variety of management positions, including working as the co-general manager for Intel's OEM Products and Services Division.
Mr. Machuca serves on The Regence Group board of directors and the University of Portland Board of Regents. He has also served on the Oregon Health & Science University Foundation board of trustees, the ENDfootwear advisory board and the Portland Metropolitan Family Services board of directors. Mr. Machuca received his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
Mr. Terry is vice president and treasurer for Agilent Technologies Inc., a spin-off of Hewlett-Packard Company and the world's premier measurement company. Mr. Terry joined the company in 1999 before the company's initial public offering and spin-off from Hewlett-Packard. At the time, Mr. Terry served as the Agilent's director of investor relations.
In his current position, Mr. Terry is responsible for the company's global treasury organization, including: corporate cash management, corporate finance, customer financing, foreign exchange, pension assets and risk management. He is also a member of Agilent's benefits committee, which has fiduciary oversight for its employee benefit and retirement programs. ■
