Union Pacific appoints Lynden Tennison as executive vice president

Omaha, Neb., USA - Union Pacific, a freight hauling railroad, appointed Lynden Tennison executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

A 26-year Union Pacific veteran, Mr. Tennison has been senior vice president and chief information officer since February 2005.

Mr. Tennison served in a variety of leadership roles including responsibility for the application systems and architectures for the entire company.

From 1998 through 2001, he was president and chief executive officer of Nexterna, a Union Pacific technology subsidiary.

Prior to joining Union Pacific in 1992, Mr. Tennison worked at American Airlines’ SABRE division, AT&T and Southwestern Bell Telephone.

Mr. Tennison has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
