UPS names Greg Carstens managing director for Singapore

Singapore - August 19, 2010, Singapore - UPS announced that Greg Carstens has been named the managing director of UPS’s operations in Singapore.

Mr. Carstens is a senior operations manager with more than 25 years of experience throughout Asia. He assumes his new post after spending three years guiding the operations of UPS Thailand, including navigating a period of political unrest to ensure uninterrupted operations for UPS customers.

Mr. Carstens began his business career in 1981 in Sydney, Australia, working for a small freight forwarding company. In 1987, after holding various positions in the industry ranging from courier driver to export operations manager, he became the operations manager for the service agent that UPS was using at the time in New Zealand.

Mr. Carstens joined UPS Australia in 1992 as an operations supervisor, then was promoted to brokerage manager in 1994 and operations manager in 1997. In 1999, Carstens assumed command of UPS operations in New Zealand.
