Vedanta Resources appoints Deepak Parekh as non-executive director

London, United Kingdom - May 16, 2013, London, United Kingdom - Vedanta Resources, a copper exploration company, announced that it has appointed Deepak Parekh as a non-executive director, effective June 1, 2013.

Mr. Parekh is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He began his career at Ernst & Young Management Consultancy Services in New York. In 1978 he joined Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC). He held various senior roles within the organisation playing a key role in transforming HDFC into India's premier housing finance company. He became Chairman in 1993, and is currently its Non-Executive Chairman.
