ViaSat announces CFO leadership transition

Carlsbad, Ca., - August 23, 2012, Carlsbad, Ca., - ViaSat Inc., a communication company, announced that Ronald Wangerin, vice president and chief financial officer of ViaSat, has advised the company of his decision to resign.

Mr. Wangerin was VP Treasurer, Secretary and CFO at startup NexusData Inc. Prior to that he was VP and CFO at Raytheon Training and also was a senior manager with Deloitte & Touche.

During his career Mr. Wangerin has worked at both large and small corporations, in both commercial and government environments. His experience includes international business operations, cash management strategies, Oracle MRP system implementation, and mergers and acquisitions.

While a member of Deloitte & Touche, he consulted on Raytheon Company’s acquisition of Hughes Electronics Defence Business and Hughes Electronics’ acquisition of PanAmSat Corporation.

Mr. Wangerin earned a B.S. degree in accounting in 1988 and completed his Masters of Accounting in 1989. He is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.

Shawn Duffy, ViaSat Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, will lead the day-to-day management of the finance team and assume the role of interim Chief Financial Officer.

Ms. Duffy joined ViaSat in 2005 as Corporate Controller and, in 2009, was appointed the company's Vice President and Corporate Controller. She assumed her current position as Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer in April 2012.

Prior to joining ViaSat, Ms. Duffy was a senior manager at Ernst & Young, LLP, serving the technology and consumer product markets. Ms. Duffy is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from San Diego State University.
