Jr.">September 30, 2010, Bentonville, Ark., USA - September 30, 2010, Bentonville, Ark., USA - Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. announced that its board of directors has elected Charles M. Holley, Jr. as the company's chief financial officer, effective November 30.

Previously, Mr. Holley held the title of senior vice president of finance with responsibility for the company’s accounting, tax, financial reporting and investor relations areas. In addition, he oversaw the financial support of the company’s real estate, benefits and risk management areas as well as its information systems and people divisions.
From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Holley served as senior vice president and controller. From 1994 through 2002, Charles held several roles in Walmart International including senior vice president and chief financial officer for the division. He helped pioneer the company’s international expansion efforts, which included leading Walmart International’s merger and acquisition activities.
Before joining Walmart, Mr. Holley worked for Tandy Corporation as managing director for its European Memorex consumer product division (Memtek International) and served as director of finance for its international operations. He also spent more than 10 years with Ernst & Young.
He is a member of the Large Cap Treasurer’s Alliance, the Committee on Corporate Treasury and Financial Executives International. He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Holley received his BBA in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his MBA in finance at the University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Holley's successor will be named at a later date.
Prior to his employment at Walmart, Mr. Schoewe served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Black and Decker Corp., a position he held from 1993 to 1999. Prior to that, he served for four years as Black and Decker’s vice president of finance and was responsible for all financial operations except treasury and tax functions.
He previously held the position of vice president of business planning and analysis. He joined Black and Decker in 1986 after serving at Chicago-based Beatrice Companies, where he was chief financial officer and controller of Beatrice Consumer Durables, Inc.
He is a member of Financial Executives International. In 2008, Tom was named a National Trustee for The First Tee. Since 2001, he has served on the board of directors of Pulte Homes, which merged with Centex Corporation in 2009. He previously served on the Centex board. ■
