Los Angeles, Ca., USA - August 10, 2009, Los Angeles, Ca., USA - WorldVest, Inc., a global merchant bank, announced that Matthew Chung has joined the team as Senior Managing Director of Asia, while James Kim has been appointed as Managing Director of Korea.

Mr. Chung holds a B.S., Computer Science from Kwang Woon University in Seoul, South Korea. He has more than 20 years of successful management, business development, and consulting experience on a global basis. Mr. Chung has worked with both private and public companies, predominantly throughout Asia, seeking to expand their businesses globally. Currently, Mr. Chung is the CEO and Founder of Uniconnex Inc., a global business development consulting firm based in Los Angeles, California specializing in the IT industry.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Chung spent 17 years working for TriGem Computer Inc. in Seoul, South Korea. Mr. Chung was directly responsible for strategic planning and product development. During his time with TriGem, the company supplied personal computers under their private brand to IBM, HP, Gateway and other global customers.
Mr. Kim, joins WorldVest from the Korea Trade Promotion and Investment Agency (KOTRA), a
government agency responsible for promoting business and investment in the country of South Korea. During his 18 years with KOTRA, Mr. Kim was personally responsible for inducing foreign direct investment of more than US $1.8 billion into Korea through the identification and advancement more than 200 projects in the real estate development, high-tech manufacturing, renewable energy, entertainment, pharmaceutical and bio-tech industries.
Further, while a member of KOTRA’s Foreign Investment Inducement Team within its Los Angeles office, Mr. Kim spearheaded a campaign which introduced Korean companies and financial institutions to the use of Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) and Alternate Public Offerings (APOs) as vehicles for accessing the U.S. public exchanges. ■
