Norwalk, Conn., USA - October 6, 2015, Norwalk, Conn., USA - Xerox Corporation announced that chief financial officer Kathryn Mikells is stepping down to pursue another professional opportunity.

Ms. Mikells was named to this position in May 2013 and appointed an executive vice president of the corporation at that time. Prior to joining Xerox, Ms. Mikells was CFO of The ADT Corporation, following financial leadership roles at Nalco and UAL Corporation. As CFO of The ADT Corporation, she helped guide ADT’s successful transition into an independently traded company following its separation from Tyco.
Before joining ADT, she was chief financial officer of Nalco, a global provider of water treatment and energy technologies. She joined Nalco in 2010 from UAL Corporation, the parent company of United Airlines, where she served as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
During her 16 years with UAL, Ms. Mikells held a variety of senior leadership roles, including head of investor relations, vice president of financial planning and analysis, and treasurer. Before joining UAL, she spent six years in the financial services industry at GE Capital, Household International and CIBC.
Ms. Mikells holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She serves on the board of directors for The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. Ms. Mikells will remain with Xerox until October 31, 2015 in order to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
Leslie Varon, vice president of Investor Relations, will serve as interim chief financial officer until a permanent successor is named.
Ms. Varon is vice president of investor relations for Xerox. She was named to this position in February 2015 and was appointed a vice president of the corporation in August 2001.
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Varon served as corporate controller responsible for driving the company’s finance transformation initiatives including the global finance shared service centers, corporate financial planning and analysis, global real estate and Enterprise Risk Management.
She was previously vice president, finance and operational support for Xerox North America, providing financial and strategic leadership for the company's sales operations throughout the United States and Canada. She assumed this position in October 2004. From 1997-2004, she was head of Xerox investor relations and in 2001, she was named to the additional role of corporate secretary.
Ms. Varon joined Xerox in 1980 as a financial analyst and proceeded to hold a number of operational finance and controller assignments in Xerox's sales operations. In 1993, she was named director of corporate audit and led all facets of Xerox's worldwide audit organization. ■
