Sunnyvale, Ca., USA - May 13, 2012, Sunnyvale, Ca., USA - Yahoo! Inc. announced that it has named Fred Amoroso as chairman of the board of directors and Ross Levinsohn as interim chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Mr. Amoroso replaces Roy Bostock, who has stepped down from his role as Non-Executive Chairman in order to accelerate the leadership transition for the new Board. Mr. Levinsohn replaces Scott Thompson, former Chief Executive Officer, who has left the Company.
Mr. Amoroso is a member of Rovi Corporation's Board of Directors. He previously served as Rovi's president and chief executive officer from July 2005 to December 2011. Prior to joining Rovi, Mr. Amoroso served as an advisor to Warburg Pincus, an investment firm from September 2004 to June 2005.
From July 2002 to August 2004, Mr. Amoroso served as the president, chief executive officer and vice chairman of Meta Group, an information technology research and advisory firm. From October 1999 until its merger with IBM in January 2002, Mr. Amoroso served as president, chief executive officer and a director of CrossWorlds Software, Inc.
Prior to CrossWorlds, Amoroso was a member of the world-wide management committee of IBM, was general manager of IBM Global Services Asia Pacific and held various other executive positions at IBM. Before joining IBM, he held various positions at Price Waterhouse, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, including lead technology partner.
Mr. Amoroso holds a B.S. in systems engineering and M.S. in operations research from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn.
Mr. Levinsohn is executive vice president and head of global media for Yahoo!. Prior to his current role, ge was EVP of Yahoo!’s Americas region.
Mr. Levinsohn previously served as the President of News Corporation's Fox Interactive Media, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations, strategy and acquisitions that helped transform the company into a leader in digital media. He also held senior management positions with AltaVista, CBS Sportsline and HBO.
Mr. Levinsohn also was the co-founder and managing director of Fuse Capital, an investment and strategic equity management firm. He is a member of the board of Freedom Communications and the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program. Mr. Levinsohn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from The American University.
Mr. Thompson joined Yahoo! as CEO in January 2012. Mr. Thompson has served as president of PayPal, a division of eBay, Inc., and he previously served as PayPal's senior vice president and chief technology officer.
Prior to PayPal, Mr. Thompson was executive vice president of technology solutions at Inovant LLP, a subsidiary of Visa formed to oversee global technology for the organization. Mr. Thompson was also CIO of Barclays Global Investors where he implemented a new strategic technology platform and global infrastructure. He worked at Coopers & Lybrand LLP, and he also serves on the board of directors of F5 Networks Inc., and Splunk Inc. ■
