The three-year cooperation agreement signed by the TradeUSA department of the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and the Specialty Food Association (SFA) of the US focuses on educating Greek food and drink enterprises and helping them link up with U.S. food retailers.
“Dramatic changes are being observed in the behavior of US consumers. I believe there is an incredible opportunity for Greek food due to the swing in favor of the Mediterranean diet,” SFA head Phil Kafarakis told a press conference.
The president of the Greek International Business Association (SEVE), Kyriakos Loufakis, said that the value of Greek food and drink exports to the U.S. in 2016 amounted to $314.79 million, up 9.59 percent from the year before. ■
