Entries now open for Tesco's Agri T-Jam 2021

The Tesco Agri T-Jam start-up pitch competition in partnership with the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit is now welcoming entries from agri-tech innovators with solutions to improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability across its fresh produce, arable, meat, fish and dairy categories.

Entries are now open for seed and early-stage companies to submit details of their technology and business overview, until the closing date of Thursday June 10. All entries will be shared with the Tesco Agriculture team and its judging committee of supply chain partners and Tesco colleagues.

The final presentations will take place virtually on Monday October 18 with the judging committee, supply chain partners and Tesco colleagues, followed by a public showcase webinar to a global audience.

Tesco are looking for technologies that address one or more of the following priority areas:

Reducing Environmental Footprint & GHG Emissions

Predictive Farming

Crop Specific Solutions, Shelf Life & Storage

Improving Soil Health & Resilience

Water Quality Analysis & Irrigation

Robotics, Automation & Sensor Technology

Monitoring & Supporting Biodiversity

Livestock: Animal Health & Welfare

Supply Chain Efficiency & Waste Reduction

Indoor & Vertical Farming

Remote Operations â€“ Automation, Farm Management, Worker Safety.

Selection process overview

Entries open May 6

Entries close June 10 (midnight U.S. Pacific)

After a first round review, shortlisted start-ups will be contacted for more details and short pitch video

The final ten will be contacted by early/mid September to confirm details

Finalists will be announced during the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit on September 28-29. Finalists will be invited as guests to network at the summit.

The Tesco Agri T-Jam Final will take place on Monday October 18 from 11am-5pm (UK time) in two parts:

Private final pitch session with the judging committee, supply chain partners and Tesco colleagues, with Q&A

Public webinar showcase presenting all finalists, an update from 2020 winner, and the reveal of the 2021 winner by Tesco

At least one of the finalist start-ups will be selected for fast-track introductions and mentoring by the Tesco agriculture team and its supplier network, with potential to trial the solution (subject to assessment). ■
