Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan agree on railway transportation for fruit and vegetables

The President of Kazakhstan’s national railways company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) Kanat Alpysbayev, held talks with the heads of Uzbekistan’s railways company, O’zbekiston Temir Yo’llari, to discuss further development of cooperation in the railway transport sector, the press service of KTZ said.

During the meeting the sides reached an agreement on granting transit transportation of Uzbek fruit and vegetables and other agricultural products through the territory of Kazakhstan.

Last year saw a growth of cargo transportation by railway transport between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, with the volume of traffic amounting to 19 million tons.
