Poland to significantly increase vegetable production

Central Statistical Office of Poland expects vegetable production to significantly increase in 2016, according sadyogrody.pl.

Cucumber production will grow by 19% to 263,000 tons.
Polish vegetable production is expected to reach 4.4 million tons, an increase of 17% year-on-year with the sharpest increase to be observed in the cauliflower segment: up by 22% to 236,000 tons.

Production of traditional vegetables will almost reach 2.8 million tons, a rise of 18% compared with 2015. In particular, Polish growers are expected to harvest more than 1 million tons of white cabbage (+17%), 346,000 tons of table beets (+17%), 346,000 tons of carrots (+17%) and 630,000 tons of onions (+15%).

Cucumber production will grow by 19% to 263,000 tons, and harvested volumes of tomatoes will be 10% higher than total 260,000 tons.

The market analysts connect a rise in Polish vegetable production with more favorable weather conditions this year.
