Russian watchdog calls for better state control of grain quality
According to a report, prepared by the agricultural watchdog for the hearings, the legal gap may "entail non-fulfillment of guarantees of supplies of quality products to the international grain market and create serious risks for the development of the state agricultural complex and the country’s economy in general."
Besides, Russia may lose its status of one of the world’s biggest grain exporters due to lax quality control, the report reads.
The report also says that the unsolved issue also affects the quality of bread and flour for Russian consumers, TASS reported. ■
