One hundreds years ago Dr. W. Schaufelberger founded Solis AG. That company was founded to produce and distribute heating pad that Mr. Schaufelberger invented, and I doubt that even he envisioned such a bright future for his young company. Engineer at heart, Mr. Schaufelberger expanded the business and Solis divided its production into three lines, Electrical heating pads/Cuddlesome warmth, Household, and Beauty.
After the Second World War, Solis stepped out to the world. Hairdryer from 1959 became an iconic device and top hair stylists still use words "Made in Switzerland" as a symbol for highest quality. There were some changes along the way, but at this moment we are interested in one product which is not in our office, unfortunately, but it will be. In 1985, Solis presented its first fully automatic espresso machine to be used at home and in intimacy of you office. Up to this day some half a million units have been sold. In the years that followed, it was a bit hard to count all models of coffee machines, blenders and juice fountain.
And then, in 2005, the fully automatic Ultra One Touch Cappuccino entered the market. That silver-coloured beast of 17 kilograms is one of the best coffee machines in the world. It is aimed at semi-professionals, and considering how much coffee I can drink, it would fit my working table just nicely. Maybe I should throw away my laser printer, or ink-jet, there's just enough space for One Touch. OK, I got carried away...
Solis Ultra One Touch Cappuccino has it all and then some. I won't go in detail, I'll give you just enough details to see that One Touch stands alone in his own class. You can use it for lattes, espresso, coffee and cappuccino. It will take just few seconds to make you a perfect drink. I admire German precision, but I must salute Swiss engineers, they thought about every single detail.
In brief it would be like this: One touch only is enough; display guides you through the process; there are messages in 14 languages; it can be programmed; there's a special pre-brew coffee conditioning system; and - you can adjust the water hardness setting. Hallo?! Water Hardness Setting?!? I love Swiss made mind. >
You can experiment with grams of ground coffee and water, and when you find you ideal values they can be stored in memory, along with your favourite coffee temperature. There are four buttons for cup size selection, professional coffee grinder, water tank for 2.4 litre, a pump that can deliver 16 bars, the cleaning also requires just one touch... The rest of the information about Ultra One Touch, and there are plenty, you can find on the internet, but similar coffee machine is very hard to find. ■
