France industrial production rebounds as expected in July

France's industrial production increased as expected in July after falling in the previous month, the statistical office Insee reported Friday.

Industrial output rose 0.5% month-over-month in July, reversing a 1.1% drop in June. The figure also matched consensus estimate.

Output in the manufacturing industry recovered slightly by 0.3% from June, when it dropped by 0.9%. Output of transport equipment logged a growth of 1.9%.

Mining and quarrying production grew 2.0% and construction output bounced back by 0.6%.

On a yearly basis, industrial production advanced 3.1% in July, slower than the 3.6% growth economists had forecast.
