Norway: Increase in turnover for building of ships and oil platforms

Seasonally-adjusted figures show that the total turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 0.7 per cent from the second to the third quarter of 2019. On a monthly basis, from August to September 2019, the manufacturing turnover increased by 1.2 per cent.

The index value for turnover in manufacturing was 160.5 (2005=100) in the third quarter of 2019 compared to 159.4 in the previous three-month period, according to seasonally-adjusted figures.

Seasonally-adjusted figures show that the turnover in Norwegian manufacturing increased by 0.7 per cent from the second to the third quarter of 2019. The domestic market accounts for the growth. Building of ships, boats and oil platforms contributed the most to the growth with a strong increase of 25 per cent in the period. This is due to some large ship deliveries in this period. Building of oil platforms also had a significant growth in turnover.
