Peru: Consumer confidence broadly unchanged in October

The consumer confidence indicator published by GfK fell slightly from 91 in September to 90 in October.

The reading reflected some deterioration in consumers’ expectations over their personal financial situation in the next 12 months, while their expectations on the economy over the same time horizon improved.

In terms of geographical areas, confidence declined marginally in both Metropolitan Lima and inland areas.

Panelists surveyed for this month’s LatinFocus report expect private consumption to expand 3.3% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. In 2020, panelists expect private consumption to grow 3.2%.
