Poland: Growth in industrial output decelerates considerably in December
Driving the result were increases in the manufacturing and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sub-sectors. Particularly strong growth was also recorded in the manufacture of basic metals and in repair and installation of machinery and equipment.
Mining and quarrying output, on the other hand, continued to contract.
Annual average growth in industrial output came in at 6.5% in December, inching up from 6.4% in November and marking a fresh multi-year high.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 4.7% in 2018, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2019, the panel expects industrial production to expand 4.2%. ■
