According to the first estimate, Russia's GDP in the III quarter of 2019 compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018 amounted to 28 trillion rubles at current prices, its physical volume index was 1.7%, and the GDP deflator index was 101.4%.
The assessment is based on the operational statistical reporting of enterprises and organizations, data from the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, and a number of other departments. With a lack of information, expert assessments were used.
The largest growth in the index of physical volume of gross value added to the corresponding period of the previous year was demonstrated by mining (an increase of 2.0% compared to the third quarter of 2018), manufacturing (an increase of 2.5%), wholesale and retail trade (an increase by 2.2%), real estate activities (growth by 2.2%), financial and insurance activities (growth by 7.9%).
The positive dynamics of the indices of the physical volume of gross value added in the commodity segment is due to the growth of production in the mining industry.
Production indices are published in the monthly report “The Socio-Economic Situation of Russia†(January - October 2019) .
The production index for the III quarter of 2019 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year by the type of activity "Mining" amounted to 102.9%.
The production index by type of activity “Manufacturing†amounted to 102.9%. In the trading segment, the index of physical volume of wholesale trade turnover was 104.1%.
The physical volume index of the turnover of organizations engaged in real estate operations in October 2019 compared to October 2018 amounted to 106.5%.
There is also growth in sectors such as agriculture, forestry, hunting, fishing and fish farming (an increase of 2.6% compared to Q3 2018); provision of electric energy, gas and steam, air conditioning (2.0% increase); activities in the field of health and social services (growth by 1.5%); cultural and sporting activities (an increase of 1.3%); the activity of hotels and catering establishments (growth by 1.2%).
The decrease in the index of physical volume of value added to the corresponding period of the previous year is observed in such industries as transportation and storage (a decrease of 0.1% compared to the third quarter of 2018); administrative activities (decrease by 0.6%); education (decrease by 0.7%).
In particular, in the monthly report of the Federal State Statistics Service “Socio-economic situation of Russia†for January - October 2019, it was noted that the dynamics of freight traffic in the III quarter of 2019 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 99.4%. ■
