Slovakia exports of goods EUR 7.8 billion

In October 2021, total Slovakia exports of goods amounted to EUR 7,8 billion, with a year on year drop by 2,3%.

Total imports of goods increased by 4,9% to EUR 7,5 billion.

The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 290,9 million (by EUR 530,3 lower than in the corresponding period last year).

In January and October 2021, compared to the corresponding period last year, total exports of goods increased by 16,5% to EUR 72,1 billion and total imports by 19,1% to EUR 70,2 billion. The balance of foreign trade was in surplus in the amount of EUR 1,9 billion (by EUR 1 billion lower than in the corresponding period last year).

In January to October 2021, compared to the corresponding period last year, exports to the EU Member States increased by 17,7% and accounted for 79,8% of total exports. Imports from the EU Member States represented 65,1% of total imports and increased by 16,5% year on year.

Exports to the non EU countries in January to October 2021 increased by 12,3% compared to the corresponding period last year and accounted for 20,2% of total exports. Imports from non EU countries accounted for 34,9% of total imports and increased by 24,3% year on year.

The most traded SITC class in the foreign trade of the Slovak Republic was machinery and transport equipment with a share of 61,3% in total exports and 47,9% in total imports.
