In June, turnover rose year on year in only two of the five monitored sectors of the economy, but what is important, industry returned to positive values.

Turnover in construction were recorded the same a year ago. Turnover in transportation and storage decreased only slightly year on year, slightly more in selected market services.
Industry, as the most important sector in the structure of the economy, recorded a year on year increase in turnover of 2.5% in June 2023.
After five months of decline, there was a turnaround and turnover began to rise for the first time since the beginning of the year. Real growth of turnover (in constant prices) was recorded in 6 out of 16 monitored industrial sectors).
The overall development was most significantly affected by a year on year growth of turnover in manufacture of transport equipment by 21.1%, in manufacture of coke and petroleum products by 43.7% and in manufacture of machinery n.e.c. by 10.3%.
More considerable growth of turnover in industry was mainly hindered by a year on year decrease in electricity and gas supply by 28.6%, in manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 23.7% and in manufacture of metals by 3.5%.
In June 2023, selected market services recorded a decrease in turnover of 6.2%, while lower values than a year ago were recorded for the sixth consecutive month.
The result was primarily influenced by administrative and other business support activities, which were important in terms of share, with a 26% year on year decline in turnover.
After 16 months of continuous year on year growth, turnover in activities of travel agencies also dropped. The highest year on year increase at the level of 7.9% was reached by turnover in architectural and engineering activities, as well as in real estate activities by 4%.
In June 2023, enterprises in transportation and storage recorded a decrease in turnover by 0.7% year on year, returning to negative values after a monthly rise.
It was mainly pulled back into decline by a 3.5% decrease in turnover in the most important land transport, including transport via pipeline. On the contrary, turnover in the second most important in terms of volume, warehousing and support activities for transportation rose by 1.6% year on year.
Information and communication activities continue to maintain a high rate of growth in turnover for a long time, it increased year on year by 14.4% in June 2023.
Computer programming, the most important in terms of volume, with year on year increase in turnover of 17.1%, and programming and broadcasting activities with growth in turnover of 15.5% most significantly contributed to the overall result.
In June 2023, construction companies recorded turnover in their services at the same level as a year ago.
After adjusting for seasonal effects, turnover increased month on month in 4 out of 5 monitored sectors of the economy. It rose most significantly in selected market services by 3.4% and in industry by 2.4%. In information and communication activities, turnover rose by 0.8% and in transportation by 0.2%. Turnover decreased month on month only in construction by 2.3%.
In total, for the first six months of 2023, turnover increased the most year on year in information and communication activities by 11.3%. Increases in turnover were also recorded in transportation and storage by 1.8% and construction by 1.7%. On the contrary, the total year on year decline in turnover in selected market services was deepened to 10.4%, and turnover in industry decreased by 1.7%. ■
