Unemployment rate in Greece rests at multi-year low in December
The result followed the 800 decrease in unemployed seen in November.
The unemployment rate was stable at 23.1% in December for the third consecutive month. The unemployment rate is at the lowest level since March 2012 (December 2015: 24.1%).
Despite the improvements registered over the past years, Greece’s unemployment rate is still well above the Eurozone average.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect unemployment to average 22.5% in 2017. For 2018, the panel expects the unemployment rate to average 21.3%. ■
