'On Friday we approved the vaccine and, as a result, the Russian embassy confirmed that it will deliver 200,000 doses and there will be a deal to import more,' Bizri said.

Lebanon also expects to receive by mid-month a first batch of some 30,000 doses of the US-German Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, which they will apply to front-line medical personnel, people with ailments and those over 65 years old.

Bizri informed that the Army obtained the China's Sinopharm vaccine, which began to be used in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. That antidote has an efficacy level of 86 percent against Covid-19, according to final trials conducted in Dubai.
