Engineers consulted with dynamics experts at Lotus to meet the demands of the most demanding. HTRAC delivers the all-weather benefits of a traditional AWD, and the fun-to-drive character of a performance-oriented AWD system at the push of a button. At the heart of the beast there is 5.0 Tau GDI V8 engine, an V8 with 420-horsepower, increased compression ratio and upgraded multiple-injection. There is also 3.8 Lambda GDI V6 engine with 311-horsepower, Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) and a three-stage variable intake.
The Genesis features an advanced Automatic Emergency Braking system that uses both cameras and radar sensors. In extreme conditions, it can see what's happening up ahead and alert you of danger. If a crash is imminent and the driver does not react, the system deploys Automatic Emergency Braking. The system can apply full brake force stopping power from 5 to 50 MPH. With the Lane Keep Assist the Genesis will even provide haptic feedback through steering wheel vibration when the vehicle drifts outside the lane.
The Genesis employs a radar system to detect when a vehicle is in the driver's blind spot or in the rear cross path while backing up. The system then provides both an audio and a visual alert to keep you aware at all times. The Genesis automatically adjusts its speed based on the car in front of you. It'll even come to a full stop and then start again without any driver input. The Genesis serves up all the relevant information in the driver's line of sight. An available 7-inch color instrument panel display keeps the driver well informed.
But Hyundai didn't stop at the driving systems, the comfort was on its top list too. The Genesis' trunk will automatically open when you stand within 3 feet behind the vehicle with the key for more than three seconds. No need to kick or wave your feet to engage. As you drive, carbon dioxide naturally builds. The Genesis CO2 Sensor automatically activates the ventilation system to add fresh air to the cabin. And there's more: The Genesis intelligently indicates exactly which tire is low on air.
The Genesis Intelligent Assistant is a proactive app built to save the driver time and provide an even higher level of convenience. The app combines Blue Link features, data from the vehicle, the owner's smartphone, and the internet with multiple layers of intelligence. This allows the Genesis Intelligent Assistant app to send proactive notifications and recommendations to the Genesis owner in preparation for their drive. Genesis owners will have alerts to remote start their car on a hot or cold day, saving them the luxury of time.
Aluminum trim provides a sleek touch to an already impressive interior. An all-new platform utilizes advanced-high-strength steel forged in Hyundai's steel mill giving the Genesis improved rigidity. The Genesis is even more spacious with a sunroof that delivers panoramic views by opening up completely from front to back seat. It allows each driver to find the ideal comfortable position by injecting air to bolster the seat and extending for further leg support. And for that final touch, there is genuine wood that anyone can appreciate. ■
