Europe, Croatia
This time we will start our travel around the globe with our capital city, Zagreb. It is rainy and freezing in Croatia but this is a perfect weather to drag through the galleries and get acquainted to some other kind of art.

Croatian Museum of Naive Art has a collection of about 1500 paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints from the 1930s to the present day and it is probably the first museum of naive art in the world. Beside Croatian naive artist, you will also find works of French, Polish, Italian, Dutch and many other foreign naive artists. Although it is the first part of September, be armed with umbrella, worm coat, boots, flip-flops and T-shirt.
You never know what kind of weather you'll encounter when you step out.

Asia, China
For more than 2000 years people have gathered to watch this extraordinary spectacle, known by the Chinese as "The Black Dragon". The extraordinary surging tide of the Qiantang River is a world-renowned natural wonder caused by the gravitational pull of the stars and planets. The river passes through Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, south of Shanghai, east China. The tide is up to 9 meters high, and travels at up to 40 km per hour. The force of this large body of water has been known to have devastating effects. Dangerous and beautiful is the high tide at Qiantang River. Anyway, it is worth to see it these days during the autumn equinox.

Europe, Spain
Euro Basket 2007 in Barcelona. What can I say? I admit, this is not my game. But, Spanish team is the world champions and favorite here on its ground. Championship takes place in four cities: Granada, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante and Sevilla. Final game will be played in Madrid on September 16. If you want to bet, place your tip on Spain or Greece, two strongest team of this championship. But, we will see, maybe there will be surprises.
If you are a basketball fan buy a chips and beer and enjoy the game. And finally, if you want to be informed (I know you don't but I will tell you anyway), Croatian team had not good start. A national drama, you can bet on that.

Europe, Portugal
In neighborhood, The Road Racing World Championships continues with the Portuguese Moto GP at Estoril. Well, that can be my game. Next Sunday is the day for Autodromo Do Estoril, which is 4.36 km long, and have 14 turns. The racetrack is fast and riders adore its twisting circuit. I don't have a clue why; it would be faster if they ride straight.
Never mind, they reach speeds of up to 310 km/h anyway and the races are extremely competitive. Unlike Formula One, overtaking is frequent and when the bikes get close drivers push them to the limit. We wish them a safe ride and to you a good amusement.

Americas, USA
I started "Planning the weekend around the globe" with naive art, and I will finish with other kind of "art". In North Carolina, in Morehead City, the proudest bald people of America congregate once a year to celebrate their good fortune at losing their hair. John T Capps III started the event in 1973 as a riposte to those who believe that bald is less than beautiful. Bald is beautiful. Just ask women that watch the Oz show with fascination.
Do you actually think that we follow the plot? Well... no. Do you follow the plot of Bay Watch? Participants of gathering can get advice on how to cope with a general lack of hirsuteness, with tips on grooming and shine maintenance, as well as group chanting. I will say nothing more. ■
