Everybody likes to eat a good food. The physicians especially recommend Mediterranean food for health and long living. This time we offering you chance to discover some of the local culture and escape the chips and burgers. One of the most important gastronomic events in the Algarve is the Festival do Marisco (what coincidence, this is a seafood festival) in the fishing town of Olh'o in Portugal.

In the rows of stalls all kinds of fresh fish dishes are for sale. But there is more than eating:: dancing and singing and concerts by internationally renowned artists. Beautiful dishes, typical of the region, offer the chance to discover some of the local culture. Enjoy, like we will if we only could.

The province of Canakkale lies on both sides of the Dardanelles which connects the Sea of Marmara to the Aegean Sea. Its shores touch both, Europe with the Gelibolu Peninsula, and Asia with the Biga Peninsula, and there are regular ferries between the two sides. Every summer, the site is brought to life with guided tours, re-enactments and folklore displays, providing a great opportunity for visitors to take in the highlights.

International Troy Festival give you a privilege to meet a history of Troy in the ground where history really started. Meet Canakkale this summer if you are in neighbourhood and remember the stories about Hector, Achilles and Achaean Greeks, Helen, Paris, Agamemnon and Priam.

Asia, India
A little bit different continent, a little bit different event. If you are of those who dream about India, some different culture, peaceful places and different costumes, the Nehru Trophy Boat Race is maybe place for you. The Nehru Trophy Boat Race takes place each year of the second Saturday in August. The venue of the boat race is the Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha, Kerala. Story about Trophy begins 1952 when India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, visited Alappuzha. Chundans (snake-boats) are an impressive sight, measuring more than 100 feet in length, with a raised prow.

The former colonial rulers, who based the name on a native boat found in Norway, although Kerala’s Chundans bear little resemblance to their European namesakes, called them snake-boats. One of the most colourful boat races in Kerala, Nehru Trophy Boat Race seeks to promote sportsman sprit as well as unity and fraternity among people. We don't expect anything less.
